Covid 19 - BF 7 Global Outbreak High Alert
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday reviewed the Covid-19 BF 7 Variant situation in India at a high-level meeting.
Speaking at the meeting, PM Modi directed ramping up random testing and genomic sequencing efforts. He also ensured that the entire Covid infrastructure at all levels is maintained in terms of human resources and equipment.
Coronavirus cases in china are rapidly rising once again across the world and India is taking preventive measures to ensure the sudden spurt does not impact the country.
People have been asked to wear masks in public places, and get vaccinated as the Covid fear looms again and now new guidelines have been issued for tourists visiting Taj Mahal because of new covid variant.
The District Health Info Officer Of Agra said that Taj Mahal in Agra is put on high alert. Every day hundreds and thousands of tourists visits the monument. Keeping the situation in mind, tourists will have to undergo a Covid test before entering Taj Mahal and have to follow all rules that are issued by authorities.
Anil Satsangi, the District Health Information Officer of (Agra) said, "The health department has already started the tests to preventing the spread of infection as much as they can. As the alert is on, the tests have now been made mandatory for all the visitors."
Meanwhile, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya reviewed the situation and asked people to follow the prescription Covid-appropriate behaviour, including wearing masks in crowded places, using sanitizer and getting vaccinated.
India has reported four Covid-19 cases caused by the BF 7 variant, a new sub-variant of the Omicron strain that is driving the rapid surge in infections in China since July & still infecting people on large numbers.
Four cases have been reported from Gujarat and one has been confirmed from Odisha. All five patients were either asymptomatic or had mild symptoms and have now recovered.
